REFORESTING LAND PARCELS
Over the years, Rainforest Conservation Foundation have completed several reforestation projects throughout the Daintree region.
To date more than 28.32 hectares (70 acres) of land have been restored.
Our renewed focus in the coming years is on undertaking large-scale restoration projects within the Wet Tropics Region of far north Queensland. We define large-scale restoration as restoring an area of over 100 hectares (247 acres).
Terrain Natural Resource Management identified approximately 20,000 hectares (49,421 acres) within this precious ecosystem are in danger or at risk due to the impact of climate change. This area needs to be restored & protected within the next 20 years to protect & preserve the habitat that relies on the natural environment in this region - including the communities that live & rely on this natural resource.

A reforestation project can take many years to complete. Planning, seed collection and propagating, growing, nurturing, and hardening plants, and land preparation all happen before a single tree is planted.
