Rainforest Conservation Foundation works with local landowners within the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland to help restore their previously cleared or developed land.

Landowners can nominate land areas for the RCF team to reforest on their behalf. The team will manage the project from start to finish, ensuring native and endemic species are used with all project expenses covered by the Rainforest Conservation Foundation and land retained by the original landowner.

  • Rainforest Conservation Foundation works with landowners in the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland to restore previously cleared or developed land. Landowners nominate areas of their property, and the RCF team reforests them on their behalf, managing the project from start to finish and using native and endemic species.

  • Under RCF’s landowner program, Rainforest Conservation Foundation covers all project expenses for reforesting the land you nominate, and the land stays with you as the original landowner. RCF manages the work from start to finish, planting native species grown from seed collected within 5 kilometres of the area being restored.

  • Yes. Rainforest Conservation Foundation works with landowners and businesses to apply Nature Refuge Covenants, which protect land in and around the Daintree for future generations. More than 18,000 hectares have been covenanted this way. RCF also buys and reforests land, then gifts the titles to Queensland National Parks for ongoing management.
